Hello everyone, In this review, I’d like to introduce the latest upgraded version of the Cartier Tank from AF Factory. This is one of my personal recommendations for a ladies’ watch in the thousand‑yuan (sub‑$250) price range. Many watch enthusiasts are unsure which model to choose when buying a gift for their girlfriend or wife. The Cartier Tank, along with the Ballon Bleu, is an excellent choice. The craftsmanship is truly outstanding, the value for money is very high, and the price is very fair. It uses a Swiss quartz movement, so there are virtually no returns or repairs – very reliable and worry‑free. Whether for gifting or personal use, it’s a great option.

Currently, I have two small‑size models here: one with a plain bezel and the other with diamonds on both sides. What is the difference between this new version and the old one? Let me briefly explain. On the new Tank, the two edges of the case are rounded and polished – they are smooth and curved. On the old Tank, those two edges were flat – the front surface was a flat plane. So by looking at this detail, you can easily tell new from old. Both watches shown here are the new version.

In addition, the new version is also available in a medium size and with a steel bracelet. If your wrist is relatively slender, choose the small size. The medium size also comes with a leather strap or steel bracelet – it’s slightly larger than the small one. The dimensions of the small size: height 29.5mm, width 22mm – exactly matching the genuine. For the medium size: height 33.7mm, width 25.5mm. That’s the only difference. If your wrist circumference is around 15cm or above, you can wear the medium size. Below 15cm, the small size is better. Of course, it also depends on your personal preference.

Now, look at this diamond‑set version. The stones are crystal (like Swarovski) – not real diamonds, but their fire and sparkle are very good. It is very difficult to tell they are not real diamonds with the naked eye – you would need a testing instrument.

The serial number on the caseback is unique per watch, matching the genuine “one watch, one code” system. The strap is made of a silk‑like material, and there are many strap options. It also features a quick‑release strap system. Simply pull the small lever and the strap comes off – very convenient. Installing a new strap is also easy – you can change it by hand without any tools.

These are two excellent ladies’ watches. Apart from the Cartier Ballon Bleu, this Tank model is also a very hot seller. The craftsmanship rivals the genuine. The hands, the printing, and the hour markers are all pad‑printed. The hands are genuine heat‑blued steel hands – not like those from low‑end factories that look like blue ink. Genuine heat‑blued hands appear very blue when light hits them, and turn almost black in dim light – exactly like the genuine, including the center axle. The three‑dimensional effect of the markers is excellent. On the small size, the “CARTIER” text is located at the 10 o’clock position; on the medium size, it is at 7 o’clock.

The crown is set with a synthetic spinel cabochon. In low light, it appears almost black. When you shine a light on it, it looks blue. Under UV light, it turns slightly reddish – very unique. The UV light in the photo causes that red effect.

As for the movement, it uses a Swiss Ronda quartz movement – very stable and accurate. You only need to change the battery once every two or three years. Setting the time is very easy: pull the crown out to the first position and turn. Honestly, you rarely even need to adjust the time – if you don’t touch it, it will keep excellent time for years. The same goes for the diamond version. Both use Swiss quartz movements. So whether for yourself or as a gift, it’s a very appropriate choice. Pair it with a nice presentation box, and it makes an impressive gift.
